Role Overview

The Merchandise Coordinator is responsible for implementing receiving and merchandising protocols to ensure efficient merchandise processing. This role fosters teamwork among Associates while enhancing the customer experience through active engagement and maintaining store cleanliness and organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional internal and external customer service by creating a welcoming environment
• Uphold a workplace culture emphasizing honesty, integrity, and confidentiality
• Manage and prioritize truck deliveries to optimize merchandise flow to the sales floor
• Train and mentor team members on standard merchandising and processing procedures
• Verify that merchandise is correctly tagged, hung, secured, and coded
• Coordinate with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure smooth merchandise flow
• Ensure tasks and activities align with store plans, adjusting priorities as needed
• Track team productivity and provide coaching where appropriate
• Organize and rotate backstock to facilitate timely replenishment
• Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards throughout the store
• Keep all backroom areas clean, organized, and compliant with recovery standards
• Follow all recycling policies and hazardous waste programs where applicable
• Communicate clearly with management and Associates regarding priorities and updates
• Give and receive feedback constructively
• Collaborate with management on Associate training to improve performance
• Comply fully with labor laws and company policies and procedures
• Promote credit and loyalty initiatives
• Contribute to shrink reduction goals and safety awareness initiatives
• Perform other duties as assigned

Candidate Profile

• Available to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
• Adaptable to changes and able to handle unexpected situations professionally
• Team-oriented and cooperates well with peers and supervisors
• Physically capable of lifting heavy objects with or without accommodations
• Experienced in training others and providing guidance
• Minimum of 1 year retail experience and at least 6 months in a leadership capacity

The starting wage range is $13.50 to $14.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, skills, and experience.
