Quantity Surveyor - Civil Engineering

A reputable civil engineering contractor headquartered in Dunshaughlin, County Meath, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with between three and four years of expertise. The role involves working on diverse civil engineering and infrastructure projects across Meath and Dublin, including a significant assignment at Dublin Airport.

Key Responsibilities

• Overseeing commercial aspects and controlling costs of civil engineering projects
• Developing budgets, cost plans, estimates, and documentation for tenders
• Supporting subcontractor procurement, conducting negotiations, and managing contract packages
• Handling interim valuations, variations, claims, and final accounts
• Tracking project expenses, budgets, cash flow, and forecasts
• Providing assistance on contractual issues and commercial reports
• Coordinating with clients, project managers, engineers, and subcontractors
• Offering commercial advice and support to project teams

Qualifications and Skills

• Between three to four years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction
• Significant experience in civil engineering essential
• Background working with main contractors or civil engineering contractors
• Proven expertise in procurement, cost control, and final account management
• Strong understanding of contracts, valuations, variations, and subcontractor supervision
• Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation abilities, and communication skills
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related field
• Possession of a full driving licence and willingness to travel across Meath and Dublin

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range from €60,000 to €70,000 depending on experience
