Job description

Overview

This role is responsible for overseeing the complete purchasing cycle including ordering, receiving, storing, distribution, and payment handling. The manager establishes and maintains an approved list of vendors across all categories, ensuring compliance with company standards and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement policies, projects, and standards across departments.
  • Generate accurate reports and presentations related to purchasing activities.
  • Audit, code, calculate, and verify data concerning orders and inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety guidelines.
  • Partner with the Executive Chef to oversee purchasing of food, beverages, and controllable items to maintain quality and profitability.
  • Order food and beverage items based on operational requirements while supporting budget management goals.
  • Implement inventory rotation and control procedures to minimize waste and maintain asset security.
  • Maintain strict adherence to brand sanitation standards and storeroom security.
  • Coordinate timely deliveries by liaising between kitchen staff, vendors, and management.
  • Verify invoices against shipments to confirm order accuracy in terms of quantity, quality, and specifications.
  • Use existing software tools for tracking food and beverage costs and inventory.
  • Complete necessary administrative documentation, including inventory reports and bookkeeping tasks, within prescribed timelines.
  • Maintain records for controllables and beverage inventories, ensuring accurate invoicing and financial processes.
  • Apply accounting knowledge to purchasing operations, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Utilize computer systems effectively for data entry, processing, and financial calculations.
  • Provide leadership and maintain discipline within the purchasing team, conducting performance reviews and addressing issues promptly.
  • Support finance goals through timely reporting, budget management, and monitoring of taxes.
  • Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement in service, cost control, and efficiency.
  • Engage with personnel and guests to understand business needs and assess opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure exemplary customer service and respond proactively to guest and customer concerns.
  • Support an environment of safety through implementation of emergency plans and compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
  • Communicate relevant information efficiently to executives, teams, and stakeholders.
  • Participate in property audits, operational assessments, and maintain high standards across all property areas.

Candidate Profile

  • Holder of a Bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or related discipline, or at least 2 years of experience in purchasing or a related field.
