Principal HVAC Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Principal HVAC Engineer to oversee international projects based out of Doha, Qatar. This role requires expertise in HVAC design for offshore fixed platforms and floating oil and gas production facilities, ensuring adherence to global standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC engineering efforts including design calculations, comprehensive planning, and technical management.
• Prepare and review design documents, provide technical support during procurement stages, and assist with tender document preparation, bid evaluations, clarifications, drawing assessments, and factory acceptance tests (FAT).
• Engage actively with international clients to resolve project-specific inquiries and related issues.
• Perform additional assigned duties as directed by the client.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 15 years of HVAC design experience within offshore fixed platforms or floating oil and gas production facilities.
• Proven leadership in at least five international projects serving as the HVAC discipline lead.
• Deep knowledge of offshore engineering HVAC principles, and familiarity with international codes and standards including but not limited to ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISO, API, SHELL DEP, and regional codes such as those from Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
• Preference for candidates with project experience in the Middle East or Brazil.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

• Proficient user of office productivity software like Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experienced with HVAC design software, such as CARRIER E20II or TRANE.
• Detail-oriented, responsible, hardworking, and willing to work extended hours as project demands dictate.
• Strong capacity for learning new skills and proactive in professional development.
• Fluency in English, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing; domestic applicants should have a CET-6 score of at least 550 or TOEIC score above 700. Native English speakers preferred for international candidates.
