Civil Structure Engineer

We are looking for a Civil Structure Engineer to join a leading Oil & Gas company in Doha, Qatar.

Job Purpose

This role involves delivering expert technical support in the design and analysis of onshore and offshore structural infrastructure to meet departmental and company objectives. The engineer will ensure efficient, safe, and reliable solutions for new and existing structural projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas sector.
• Proven background in greenfield and brownfield civil/structural projects for both onshore and offshore facilities.
• Familiarity with international standards and codes including BS, ASCE, ACI, AISC, UBC, API RP, among others.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive civil, structural, and marine engineering support including design reviews, specification updates, studies, failure analysis, and troubleshooting to meet organizational goals.
• Conduct economic and financial assessments for conceptual studies and prepare design basis and engineering packages following company and international standards.
• Support the Project Team through all project phases, from pre-FEED to construction and installation, ensuring quality execution.
• Coordinate engineering activities and offer technical aid for operation and maintenance across all company onshore and offshore facilities.
• Lead integrity program development for steel and concrete structures to uphold safety, reliability, and availability standards.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert by developing detailed civil/structural drawings and procedures, supporting high-level technical tasks.
• Execute complex analyses utilizing software such as STAAD for onshore and SACS for offshore structures.
• Offer technical expertise in Root Cause Failure Analysis, hazard assessments, risk evaluation, lifting operations, excavation permits, and inspection programs.
• Engage with consultants and stakeholders, represent the company to external agencies, conduct technical presentations, and mentor junior engineers.
• Support the Operations Readiness Plan process, monitor deliverables, adhere to milestone targets, and ensure proper handover in compliance with company policies.
