Job description
Job Summary
As a senior Structural Engineer, you will oversee project communications, coordinate disciplines, and contribute to scheme development and formulation.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify project work scopes and technical requirements.
- Engage in technical clarifications and create proposals for engineering disciplines.
- Design, review, and approve structural professional documentation, resolving owner feedback.
- Coordinate, monitor, and address issues related to structural technical documents.
- Prepare and review technical materials for structure-related bidding processes, evaluate bids, review vendor drawings, perform FAT inspections, and support procurement activities.
- Compile or assess specialized reports and various calculation outcomes.
- Coordinate on-site activities, discuss schemes, and offer technical support during construction.
- Deliver regular technical training and guidance to design personnel—minimum 10 sessions or 40 hours annually.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Project Manager and Structure department.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Over 10 years of offshore engineering experience focused on structural design for offshore platforms, FPSOs, and semi-submersible platforms.
- Educational background in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- Well-versed with international offshore structural engineering standards, including API RP-2A, AISC, ISO 19902, and Shell DEP.
Skills and Proficiencies
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Specific to Structural Engineers: Experienced with offshore oil platform structural engineering, skilled in software such as SACS, ANSYS, and AutoCAD.
- For Geotechnical and Foundation Engineers: Knowledgeable in geotechnical and foundation work for offshore platforms, and proficient with Grlweap, SACS, and AutoCAD.
Additional Information
This role involves employment through a third-party HR agency, where the selected individual will contract with the agency and provide services to COOEC.
