Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

An outstanding opportunity exists for a driven and diligent Mechanical Design Engineer to join a forward-thinking, growing company located in Cavan, Ireland. This organization brings extensive industry expertise and incorporates state-of-the-art engineering and manufacturing technologies.

As a key team member reporting to the Head of Design, you will be primarily responsible for designing distribution transformers tailored to customer requirements and contributing to the company's capability growth. Collaboration with various internal teams is essential to ensure exceptional product quality and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Create technical specifications, comprehensive drawings, and related documentation suited for customers and production teams.
• Oversee prototype production processes and coordinate with Research and Development to enhance design efficiencies.
• Refine and optimize product designs in accordance with specific client needs.
• Engage directly with manufacturing units to ensure all designs comply with quality standards.

Requirements

• A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.
• Skilled in 3D CAD tools such as CREO alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing setting, including knowledge of quality compliance standards.
• Experience with SAP and possession of a clean, full driving license are advantageous.
• Availability to work on-site with willingness to travel as business needs dictate.
