Senior Protection Testing Engineer

This role as a Protection Testing Engineer is based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and involves working with advanced technologies to support the evolution of energy systems, buildings, and industries in alignment with sustainable development goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and test protection relays from Siemens SIPROTEC 4 & 5 series and Reyrolle.
• Manage protection relays from vendors such as ABB, GE, and SEL.
• Perform testing and maintenance on medium voltage switchgear, including CT, VT, and CR tests, as well as circuit breaker timing.
• Conduct testing and upkeep of low voltage switchgear with similar parameters (CT, VT, CR tests).
• Execute advanced testing on protection functions like busbar, distance, and line or transformer differential protection.
• Diagnose and resolve issues in high, medium, and low voltage electrical systems.
• Analyze electrical faults to determine root causes effectively.

Qualifications and Skills

• Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 10 years of pertinent experience in protection testing and switchgear maintenance.
• Strong technical knowledge with hands-on experience testing and commissioning medium and low voltage switchgear, including various protection relays from major manufacturers.
• Excellent analytical capabilities coupled with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient organizational, communication, coordination, creative thinking, programming, and leadership abilities.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
