Project Manager - Grid Software

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee overall project delivery from sales engagement through technical design, legal and commercial aspects, ensuring projects are completed within scope, timeline, and budget.
• Hold profit and loss responsibility for assigned projects, adhering to pm@SIEMENS project management processes.
• Support sales and proposal activities, collaborate with software product lifecycle teams to ensure successful implementation of solutions.
• Efficiently manage engineering resources both in-house and at back offices, ensuring compliance with scope and contractual timeframes.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and communicate effectively to align project objectives.
• Plan, schedule, budget, and report on project progress.
• Identify and manage potential risks and opportunities, notifying management as appropriate.
• Review all project documentation before customer submission.
• Coordinate with procurement to select qualified subcontractors and supervise subcontracted work.
• Administer change management to drive variation orders and add value for customers.
• Conduct regional project review meetings regularly and contribute to building regional delivery teams by identifying areas for improvement.
• Assist in developing competitive, accurate proposals and facilitate approval processes.
• Engage in field sales and business development activities to grow the sales pipeline and meet targets.
• Define and harmonize processes aligned with the global Grid Software solutions strategy.
• Coordinate resources regionally to maintain productivity goals.
• Support product development to ensure rollout timelines for features or enhancements meet contractual commitments.
• Manage product lifecycle activities when assisting with product implementations.

Required Experience and Skills

• A minimum of 8 years’ experience managing projects in software development, integration, and Smart Grid domains.
• Proven experience working with utilities, preferably within Smart Grid markets such as Grid Control, Grid Simulation, Smart Metering, and Grid Edge solutions.
• Experience managing software and integration initiatives using Agile methodologies.
• Possession of pm@SIEMENS certification or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is mandatory.
• Strong initiative with a drive for continuous learning.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for engaging internal and external stakeholders.
• Capability to effectively manage multiple projects under pressure.
• Experience handling international and cross-border projects.
• Intercultural awareness and leadership skills to build harmonious teams.
• Flexibility and adaptability to manage changing requirements, priorities, and schedules.
• Results-oriented with assertive and customer-focused leadership qualities.
• Proficiency in English is required; German language skills are an advantage.

Additional Information

Travel: Approximately 10% travel is expected.

Work Arrangement: Standard global offering includes 2 to 3 days of remote work weekly.
