Principal Electrical Design Engineer (Offshore)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer with substantial expertise in the design and development of substations, transmission, and distribution systems within the Oil & Gas, hydrocarbon, and infrastructure sectors. This senior role requires leadership experience managing a sizeable electrical engineering and design team, and comprehensive involvement in conceptual, FEED, and detailed engineering stages of medium to large scale projects. A minimum of 15 years' professional experience is essential.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team of 10 to 20 electrical engineers and designers.
• Create detailed discipline work plans to guide project delivery.
• Conduct and verify electrical system studies, including ETAP analysis.
• Estimate work-hours required for assigned tasks accurately.
• Determine electrical equipment sizing and develop technical specifications.
• Perform and validate power system analyses ensuring operational integrity.
• Provide expert technical leadership and advisory support to project teams and clients.
• Ensure design quality and integrity, monitor team performance, and oversee timely and budget-compliant delivery of electrical scope.
• Lead technical presentations for clients and stakeholders as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
• At least 15 years of experience in Oil & Gas, hydrocarbon processing, petroleum refinery, offshore, and infrastructure industries.

Technical Expertise and Skills

• Deep knowledge of electrical design, construction methods, and procedural standards.
• Comprehensive familiarity with codes and industry standards such as IEEE, NFPA, API, IEC, and ANSI/NEMA.
• Strong understanding of electrical power systems, protection philosophies, and device coordination.
• Additional advantage for knowledge of Saudi Aramco standards and procedures.
