Principal Engineer

About the Role

This Principal Engineer position offers a significant leadership opportunity within a sizable, evolving technology environment undergoing major transformation. You will be part of a technically proficient team dedicated to modernizing core platforms and enhancing capabilities. While the role involves some interaction with nCino and Salesforce technologies, it is not focused on nCino engineering. Instead, this role requires broad expertise spanning engineering, integration, data, and architecture, with accountability for setting standards, promoting best practices, and shaping scalable system designs.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to elevate engineering standards, principles, and best practices within the development layer.
• Manage integration initiatives across Salesforce and other platforms, focusing on API design and service-oriented architecture.
• Provide architectural thought leadership ensuring solutions align with regulatory and enterprise requirements.
• Develop and embed continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, development frameworks, and governance processes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver scalable and resilient solutions across complex system landscapes.
• Guide data architecture, system design, and integration strategies.
• Champion the integration of AI and emerging technologies aligned to the organization's roadmap.
• Engage senior stakeholders to clarify and address challenging technical and business issues.

Technology Stack

• Salesforce as the foundational platform supporting customer engagement and workflow, emphasizing extensibility and integration.
• Exposure to nCino for lending and banking workflow support, though hands-on configuration is not part of this role.
• API and integration frameworks, including REST APIs, event-driven architecture, and microservices, to build robust internal and third-party system connections.
• CI/CD and engineering best practices emphasizing mature delivery pipelines, automation, standards improvement, release processes, and quality assurance.
• Data architecture and distributed systems design focused on scalable, structured, enterprise-aligned data environments.

Preferred Additional Experience

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud-native services and platform infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of Snowflake or other modern cloud data warehouse platforms to support data-informed decision making.
• Expertise in test strategy and quality engineering to influence automation frameworks and overall engineering quality.
• Interest or experience in applying AI, machine learning, or automation technologies to improve platforms and customer experiences.
