Job Overview

The Porter is tasked with maintaining cleanliness and safety within the warehouse, ensuring a secure environment for customers and staff. This role involves addressing potential hazards such as spills, verifying sanitation and cleaning logs daily, and ensuring cleaning tools comply with company HACCP standards. Additional duties may include minor facility repairs, wet pallet cleaning, and lighting upkeep as directed by management.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform sweeping of both interior and exterior building areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all restrooms on site.
• Clean windows, doors, and designated coffee areas when necessary.
• Manage trash containers across the premises and operate trash compactor, cardboard baler, and floor scrubber as needed.
• Promptly clean up any warehouse spills or messes.
• Support regular cleaning of employee break rooms per schedule.
• Assist department managers with aisle cleaning tasks.
• Ensure strict adherence to HACCP guidelines and complete required sanitation logs.
• Support management with additional assigned tasks including minor repairs and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Effective communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of sanitation protocols.
• Familiarity with operating floor cleaning machines, balers, and compactors is advantageous.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
