Stocker - Smallwares

Position Overview

The Smallwares Stocker is tasked with ensuring all products within the Smallwares department are properly stocked and readily available for customers. Maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment forms a critical part of this role.

Key Duties

• Restocking and packing merchandise in the department as instructed by the Department Manager.
• Offering courteous and professional customer assistance, including greeting customers and helping them locate and retrieve products from shelves.
• Assisting customers with loading and unloading items as needed.
• Performing shelf tag upkeep and supporting inventory cycle counts.
• Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and safety in the work area.
• Carrying out additional assigned responsibilities as required.

Requirements and Skills

• Basic mathematics proficiency.
• Strong communication abilities.
• Capability to deliver excellent customer service.
• Familiarity with products in the department.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime when necessary.
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk continuously for up to 4 hours.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• The ambient temperature in the work area is typically moderate.
• Work requires prolonged standing and walking for periods up to 4 hours without breaks.
• Physical labor involves lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely climb and descend a step ladder with up to 15 steps while carrying products.
• Postural flexibility required including reaching above shoulder height, twisting, bending, kneeling, and squatting.
• Awareness of industrial equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks operating in the warehouse.
