Painter

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Painter to join the team at St. Regis Hotels & Resorts located in Palm Jumeirah, Dubai. This role involves responding promptly to guest repair requests and performing a variety of maintenance tasks to uphold the hotel’s high standards. The ideal candidate will be capable of handling painting duties as well as general maintenance tasks related to hotel facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Address and follow up on guest maintenance requests to ensure satisfaction.
• Communicate effectively with guests and customers to resolve maintenance concerns.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on tools and equipment in kitchen and mechanical rooms, including cleaning and lubricating.
• Visually inspect all tools, machinery, and equipment for optimal condition.
• Transport and manage maintenance equipment as needed, such as tools and radios.
• Locate and operate all utility shut-off valves and equipment shut-offs within the building.
• Manage maintenance inventory by tracking supplies and requesting new parts when necessary.
• Report daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved communication systems.
• Acquire or maintain basic knowledge in air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, and energy conservation.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repairs, light bulb and A/C filter replacements, and ensure thorough cleanup of work areas.
• Troubleshoot and repair various equipment including plumbing fixtures, electrical components, and guestroom devices.
• Program televisions and assist in housekeeping and engineering inventory management.
• Work safely by implementing Lockout/Tagout procedures before maintenance tasks.
• Maintain interior and exterior landscaping, including sprinkler repairs.
• Utilize basic computer skills for scheduling air handlers and adjusting temperatures.
• Follow all safety, security policies, and training requirements diligently.
• Maintain a professional appearance and protect company assets and confidential information.
• Welcome guests warmly, anticipate their service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and consistently express appreciation.
• Build positive collaborative relationships with team members to achieve shared goals.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers and guests.
• Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted, navigating stairs and ladders, and reaching overhead and below the knees as necessary.
• Use computers to locate and enter work-related information effectively.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• Experience in general maintenance, with a focus on interior and exterior surface preparation and painting.
• Prior work experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is advantageous.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• No supervisory duties involved in this role.
