Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Shift Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining and repairing hotel infrastructure to ensure guest comfort and safety. Key duties include swiftly addressing guest complaints, inspecting and replacing bulbs in corridors and fire stairways, overseeing annual room maintenance, and keeping an inventory of spare parts for guest room repairs. The role involves comprehensive execution of the Room Care Maintenance program, including repairs to air conditioning, plumbing, carpeting, wallpaper, and painting work as necessary.

The technician must also be well-versed in fire drill procedures, staff handbooks, and all related regulations while enforcing health, safety, and hygiene standards. Safe operation of hotel plant and equipment and securing both guest and staff safety is paramount. The role mandates respecting guest privacy and access protocols and collaborating with other departments to maintain cleanliness standards. Daily tasks include responding to service requests, attending briefings and meetings, and participating in training sessions as required. Additional duties may be assigned by supervisors.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Possess 2 to 3 years of experience in maintenance or technical roles, preferably within the hospitality sector.
• Hands-on expertise with hotel maintenance systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
• Ability to efficiently manage urgent maintenance tasks in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong technical skills in troubleshooting and repairing various hotel systems and equipment.
• Knowledge of hotel safety codes and commitment to regulatory compliance.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational capabilities.
• Proficiency in operating and repairing an array of tools and machinery relevant to hotel maintenance.
