Role Overview and Responsibilities
- Craft and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks expertly, adhering to the hotel’s established standards.
- Deliver professional, courteous, and prompt service to all patrons.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, beers, and other beverages.
- Ensure the bar is properly organized, clean, well-stocked, and attractively presented before and during service.
- Accurately take guest orders and process them through the assigned POS system.
- Consistently prepare drinks following standard recipes, maintaining portion control and presentation quality.
- Engage guests professionally, anticipate their needs, and respond swiftly to requests.
- Promote hotel amenities, outlets, promotions, and beverage selections to enhance guest experience.
- Uphold excellent personal grooming, hygiene, and professional appearance standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and support stock management, including reporting breakage and wastage.
- Comply with all hotel policies, SOPs, food safety protocols, health and safety standards, and relevant local regulations.
- Practice responsible alcohol service in line with all governing requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Food & Beverage, Kitchen, and other departments to ensure seamless daily operations.
- Assist the team during high-demand times such as banquets, events, and special functions while sustaining service quality.
- Participate actively in briefings, meetings, and training for ongoing beverage knowledge enhancement and embody the "Yes I Can!" culture.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- At least 2 years of relevant bartending experience within a 5-star hotel, upscale bar, nightclub, or premium club environment.
- Experience managing high-volume bar, club, restaurant, banquet, and event operations is preferred.
- Strong expertise in cocktails, spirits, wines, beers, and premium drink selections.
- Proficient knowledge of beverage preparation techniques, presentation, glassware standards, and bar equipment use.
- Experience serving VIP guests and international clientele is advantageous.
- Excellent guest service aptitude combined with strong interpersonal skills and a courteous, professional demeanor.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems, beverage inventory management, stock control, requisition processes, and wastage handling.
- Understanding of hygiene protocols, food safety standards, and responsible alcohol service practices.
- Impeccable personal grooming, professional conduct, and presentation.
- Capability to operate effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts—including late nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with F&B and other hotel departments.
- Possess a positive, proactive mindset with a customer-first "Yes I Can!" attitude.
- Hospitality qualification or bartending/F&B related training is considered an asset.
