Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper zoning in the meat department to ensure a customer-ready presentation at all times.
• Conduct regular stock rotation and promptly remove any expired or unsellable products.
• Ensure accurate pricing and clearly signed merchandise by following procedures for ordering, clearance, markups, markdowns, flagging, pricing, and labeling.
• Adhere to food safety and cold chain protocols, including temperature monitoring, thermometer calibration, careful food handling, and compliance with sell-by and expiration dates.
• Take customer orders and prepare deli products such as meat, cheese, and fried chicken using equipment like slicers, rotisserie ovens, deep fryers, and stackers safely.
• Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies to maintain a hygienic, safe, and clean workspace.
• Be flexible to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to ensure consistent service quality and smooth store operations.

Challenges in the Role

• Manage a high workload efficiently in a fast-paced environment, including overnight shifts, by planning to maintain energy and focus.
• Keep up with substantial restocking and store recovery tasks accurately and timely.
• Perform physical activities such as standing for long periods, bending, and lifting items up to 50 lbs., as well as repetitive duties like zoning and organizing products with attention to detail.

Compensation

The hourly starting wage for this position is $18.05.
