About the Role
CoreCivic is seeking a Maintenance Worker passionate about delivering top-quality care within a secure institutional environment. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing various facility structures and systems such as plumbing, electrical wiring and fixtures, machinery, equipment, electronics, vehicles, and grounds to ensure safe and secure operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Upkeep and repair of the physical facility structures ensuring compliance with safety and security standards.
- Inspecting, diagnosing faults, and repairing machinery and equipment.
- Installing and repairing electrical devices including wiring and electronic components related to machinery and equipment.
- Conducting preventative maintenance in line with the implemented maintenance schedule.
- Overseeing and monitoring inmates or residents assigned to the Maintenance Department to ensure proper supervision and tracking.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A High School diploma, GED, or an equivalent certificate is mandatory.
- At least two years of experience in general maintenance or construction is required.
- Trade or technical courses in maintenance or construction may substitute experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Familiarity with building construction and building system operations is preferred.
- Possession of a valid driver's license is necessary.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
