Maintenance Worker

Overview

CoreCivic is seeking applicants for the role of Maintenance Worker at their facility in Leavenworth, KS. This role involves upholding facility standards through skilled upkeep and repair of physical structures and building systems in a secure institutional environment. Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct maintenance and repairs on the facility’s physical infrastructure ensuring safe and secure operations.
• Inspect, evaluate, and fix machinery and equipment malfunctions.
• Install and repair electrical wiring, electronic components, and machinery equipment.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance per established plans to reduce equipment downtime.
• Supervise and manage inmates or residents assigned to assist the Maintenance Department appropriately.

Qualifications

• Completion of High School diploma, GED, or equivalent certification is mandatory.
• At least two years of experience in general maintenance or construction work.
• Equivalent education from technical or trade schools in maintenance or construction can substitute the experience requirement year-for-year.
• Preferred knowledge includes building construction techniques and functioning of building systems.
• A valid driver’s license is compulsory.
• Applicants must be at least 21 years old.

Compensation

The hourly pay rate for this position is $26.32.
