Job description
Position Summary
CoreCivic is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Worker passionate about delivering superior care within a secure institutional environment. Employees at CoreCivic are committed to service excellence and professional standards to contribute positively to communities served.
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold and repair the physical infrastructure of the facility to maintain safe and secure operations.
- Conduct inspections, diagnose faults, and repair machinery and equipment as needed.
- Install and repair electrical components, wiring, and various apparatus associated with machinery and equipment.
- Carry out preventative maintenance tasks scheduled under the maintenance plan to ensure operational reliability.
- Supervise and monitor inmates or residents assigned to support maintenance operations.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possession of a High School diploma, GED, or an equivalent credential is mandatory.
- A minimum of two years of experience in general maintenance or construction is required.
- Relevant technical or trade school coursework in maintenance or construction may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for experience.
- Familiarity with building construction processes and building system operations is preferred.
- A valid driver's license is compulsory.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
