Role Overview
As a Maintenance Services Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring that buildings, equipment, gardens, and communal spaces are safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing. Your work enhances the comfort, wellbeing, and life quality of our residents. The role involves hands-on maintenance tasks and offers diversity each day, with opportunities for growth and long-term career stability.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain buildings, equipment, and public areas to ensure high safety and quality standards
- Perform general maintenance to keep facilities operating efficiently
- Care for gardens, including maintenance of outdoor spaces, pathways, and garden beds
- Accurately document maintenance records and coordinate schedules
- Manage inventory for repair materials and gardening supplies
- Support upkeep of the asset register and assist with refurbishment and replacement planning
- Ensure compliance with essential service obligations and safety regulations
- Oversee contractor activities, maintain site vehicles, and contribute to on-call and other duties as needed
Candidate Profile
- Possess practical skills in general maintenance and gardening
- Hold a valid Driver's Licence
- Have or be willing to obtain a current National Police Certificate/NDIS Worker Clearance
- Experience working with maintenance programs or facility management
- Holding a relevant trade certificate is highly regarded
- Experience in aged care or similar environments is desirable
- Demonstrate commitment to fulfilling Aged Care Worker Screening standards
