This Mainframe Host Network Specialist role is based in major Indian cities including Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, and Noida. Key Responsibilities and Skills
- Manage and support Mainframe Host Network environments, specifically in z/OS Communications Server and VTAM administration.
- Handle TCP/IP, Enterprise Extender, and SNA network configurations and troubleshooting.
- Perform DNS management, IP routing, network security, and packet analysis to optimize connectivity and network performance.
- Utilize problem-solving skills for communications infrastructure troubleshooting and enterprise network diagnostics.
- Support migration efforts and manage virtualized environments including Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019, VMware ESX, and both public and private clouds.
- Apply analytical abilities, communication skills, and operational expertise in production settings.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Proficiency with IBM z/OS Communications Server, VTAM configurations, and SNA networking technologies.
- Understanding of TLS/SSL protocols, encryption methods, firewall administration, and secure network communications.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and analysis tools such as Wireshark, OSA/Sniffer, NetView, and OMEGAMON.
- Knowledge of advanced IBM Z networking technologies including OSA-Express, HiperSockets, and Parallel Sysplex.
- Experience in network performance monitoring, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and high-availability system architectures.
- Awareness of ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
- Skills in automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), vulnerability management, and working with Active Directory and ADFS.
- Strong ability to manage stakeholders, maintain detailed documentation, and collaborate across diverse teams.
