Role Summary

The Machinist role involves operating and maintaining CNC machining machines such as the Toshiba Boring Mill to efficiently produce top-notch components adhering to company standards. Collaborating closely with various departments including fabrication, assembly, planning, and engineering, the Machinist ensures production targets and quality requirements are met while upholding safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify workplace safety risks and suggest improvements promoting a secure environment.
• Review work orders and collect necessary materials from inventory.
• Operate CNC and manual machines including Toshiba CNC Boring Mill, Haas VF-6 CNC Mill, Haas ST-35LY CNC Lathe, Manual Lathe, Drill Press, and Saw.
• Program, modify, and execute machining programs using Mastercam software.
• Follow safety procedures while operating overhead cranes.
• Maintain accurate production records to ensure adherence to standards.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance on machinery and work areas.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to fulfill production demands.
• Record and track job details digitally within the company system.
• Support lean manufacturing, 5S initiatives, and productivity improvement efforts.
• Comply with organizational safety, environmental, and health policies.
• Participate in training sessions, meetings, and safety briefings as required.
• Perform additional tasks aligned with job scope and skills.

Qualifications & Experience

• Certified Journeyperson Machinist, with a Red Seal certification preferred.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Three to five years of experience in heavy equipment manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Proven experience with CNC machinery operation.
• Competent in safely operating forklifts and overhead crane equipment.
