Role Overview

The Loss Prevention Officer position at W Edinburgh is a full-time, on-site role dedicated to protecting guests, staff, and assets by monitoring security systems, performing routine property patrols, and recognizing areas of potential risk. Responsibilities include surveillance, documenting and reporting suspicious activities, assisting in investigations, enforcing security protocols, and cooperating with hotel management and law enforcement agencies when necessary. The officer also supports emergency response plans, ensures accurate incident record-keeping, and maintains a visible, approachable presence that helps uphold safety within a guest-focused atmosphere.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Proficiency in retail loss prevention methods aimed at reducing theft, fraud, and operational hazards.
• Strong communication abilities for effective interaction with guests, team members, and external stakeholders.
• Skills in physical security such as controlling access, conducting patrols, and performing safety inspections.
• Experience with surveillance operations including effective monitoring of CCTV and related technologies.
