Job description
Position Overview
The Event Services Expert - Supervisor at W Hotels in Abu Dhabi ensures seamless teamwork among staff, maintaining high standards in grooming and attire, and addressing any discrepancies promptly. The role requires effective communication with guests and various departments to fulfill guest requirements and coordinate special banquet events. Responsibilities include preparing banquet rooms with cleanliness and appropriate furniture or equipment, verifying table setups align with company and group standards, and resolving any related issues. All activities and observations must be documented in the department logbook.
Supervisory and Operational Duties
Supporting management functions such as hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching of team members is a key part of the role. Fostering positive workplace relationships and working collaboratively to achieve common objectives is essential. Compliance with company policies, safety protocols, and reporting of accidents or hazards is mandatory. The supervisor must uphold a professional personal appearance, maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, and safeguard company assets.
Guest Service Excellence
The supervisor is responsible for welcoming guests warmly in accordance with company standards, anticipating and meeting their service needs, assisting guests with disabilities, and expressing genuine gratitude towards guests. Communication should be clear and professional in person and over the phone. Maintaining quality standards across all service areas is critical. The role involves reading and verifying detailed information and physically demanding tasks such as standing, walking, lifting objects (up to 50 pounds unassisted and more than 75 pounds with help), and navigating uneven surfaces and stairs.

Preferred Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience
- At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory capacity
- No specific licenses or certifications required
