Hotel Cleanliness Supervisor

Position Overview

The Hotel Cleanliness Supervisor at Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts in Lusail, Qatar, oversees the standards of cleanliness across guest rooms, public areas, and the swimming pool after housekeeping has completed their duties to ensure compliance with quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect rooms, public spaces, and pools post-cleaning to assure quality standards are met.
• Maintain records on occupied rooms, assess room conditions, identify rooms unsuitable for occupancy, prioritize cleaning schedules, and update guest room departure statuses.
• Support housekeeping management in daily operational activities and coordinate efforts among housekeeping, engineering, reception, and laundry departments.
• Document and resolve issues regarding unfit rooms in collaboration with reception.
• Prepare, distribute, and communicate assignment sheets and staffing schedules, and report unresolved issues to the succeeding team.
• Complete necessary administrative duties and assist management with recruiting, training, scheduling, evaluating, coaching, disciplinary actions, motivation, and employee development.

Health & Safety and Conduct

• Adhere and enforce all Marriott International safety policies, reporting maintenance issues, accident risks, incidents, or injuries promptly.
• Complete required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a clean, professional uniform and appearance.
• Safeguard confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company property.
• Foster respectful and dignified interactions with colleagues, supporting team objectives and maintaining quality assurance standards.

Physical and Operational Requirements

• Ability to walk, jog, or run as needed to respond to workplace demands.
• Possess strong visual inspection skills for reading small print and checking tools, equipment, and machinery for defects.
• Use computer systems and point-of-sale technologies to input and retrieve work-related data.
• Handle objects of various sizes and weights requiring excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Perform physical tasks including bending, twisting, reaching above head and below knees, navigating confined or elevated spaces, traversing slippery, uneven, or inclined surfaces, and using stairs or ramps.
• Regularly stand, kneel, sit, or walk throughout full shifts.
• Lift, carry, or move objects up to 55 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance; operate housekeeping carts and equipment on varied surfaces.
• Communicate clearly and courteously, responding appropriately to guest and staff concerns.

Qualifications

• Secondary school diploma or equivalent educational level.
• Minimum of 1 year relevant work experience in a similar field.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• No specific licenses or certifications required.
