Job Overview

This role involves preparing specialized meals and managing various cooking equipment such as ovens, grills, and roasters. You will be responsible for thawing frozen items appropriately, ensuring correct portion sizes, presentation, and garnishing of dishes, as well as maintaining detailed food logs. Quality control of both the quantity and quality of food produced is essential.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare dishes according to prescribed recipes, quality standards, and food presentation protocols.
• Notify the chef about surplus food items to be used in daily specials and inform service staff about menu specials and items that are out of stock.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching team members, serving as a role model.
• Follow company policies and safety procedures, report maintenance needs, workplace incidents, and ensure food safety compliance.
• Maintain professional personal appearance, uphold confidentiality, and protect company assets.
• Anticipate and meet guest service needs, communicate clearly and professionally, and foster positive team relationships.
• Perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, lifting objects up to 25 pounds, and other reasonable duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements

• Education: Degree from a technical, trade, or vocational school is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a similar culinary role.
• Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience required.
• Certification: None mandated.
