Job description
Position Overview
The Chef de Partie for the Wet Deck at W Hotels located in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, is responsible for preparing specialized meals and substitutions, managing cooking temperatures across various kitchen equipment, and ensuring food quality and presentation meet set standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food items in line with recipes, quality and presentation standards, including cold dishes.
- Manage oven, broiler, grill, and roaster temperatures accurately.
- Handle inventory tasks including pulling frozen items to thaw and maintaining food logs.
- Monitor food quantity and quality, communicating any assistance needed during busy times to the chef.
- Report excess food items for use in daily specials and communicate menu specials and out-of-stock items to Food & Beverage staff.
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluations, discipline, motivation, and coaching, serving as a positive role model.
- Maintain safety protocols by adhering to company policies; report any maintenance issues, accidents, or unsafe conditions.
- Project a professional appearance and uphold confidentiality of company information.
- Anticipate and respond effectively to guest service needs and maintain clear, professional communication.
- Foster teamwork and maintain positive relationships to achieve common goals.
- Meet physical job requirements such as standing, walking, bending, lifting objects up to 25 pounds, and other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of a technical, trade, or vocational school diploma.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a related culinary role.
- No prior supervisory experience is required.
- No specific licenses or certifications mandated.
