Lead AI Platform Engineer

Role Responsibilities

• Lead deployment and daily operation of Central AI Kitchen’s shared Agentic AI Platform Services on RE:AI's IaaS, leveraging Red Hat OpenShift or similar container orchestration platforms.
• Manage and enhance platform functionalities enabling secure, governed interactions among AI agents, enterprise systems, and tools, including MCP services, API gateways, agent identity mechanisms, and registries.
• Create reusable platform patterns and services to support application teams in building, onboarding, and managing enterprise AI agents.
• Ensure reliability, security, scalability, and interoperability of agentic AI platform services.
• Lead and guide a hybrid engineering team based in Singapore and India, encompassing technical strategy, resource planning, mentoring, and delivery oversight.
• Collaborate closely with AI architects, infrastructure, cybersecurity, application teams, and fellow AI Platform Engineering leads to drive integrated solutions.

Impact and Delivery

• Oversee implementation and lifecycle management for assigned agent services within Central AI Kitchen.
• Design, build, and operate MCP servers and gateway components to standardize and govern connections between AI agents and enterprise APIs, tools, and data sources.
• Work with development teams to implement agent identity, authentication, and trusted interactions, supporting secure communications between agents and services.
• Develop and maintain an enterprise agent registry managing discovery, metadata, ownership, lifecycle status, and governance.
• Design access control, routing, and policy enforcement gateways for agents and tools integrated with enterprise systems.
• Create standards and onboarding practices for agents, servers, tools, and AI platform components to ensure consistency and quality.
• Enforce security at multiple levels including authentication, authorization, secrets handling, and least-privilege execution policies for AI agents.
• Integrate platform components with enterprise infrastructure and security services like IAM, API management, secrets management, SIEM, and logging.
• Support the evolution of agent interoperability and communication standards as relevant.
• Direct engineering efforts across locations by organizing work, providing technical leadership, reviewing code and designs, fostering documentation and knowledge transfer.
• Coordinate efforts among internal teams, offshore engineers, vendors, and platform groups to ensure effective delivery and operation of platform capabilities.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• A minimum of 8 years experience in platform engineering, cloud-native infrastructure, or data/AI platform development.
• Proficiency in deploying and managing platforms on Kubernetes or OpenShift environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing or integrating enterprise-level APIs, API gateways, identity management platforms, or distributed service architectures.
• Proven ability to lead platform component implementation and provide technical guidance to engineering teams.
• Experience managing engineering delivery across multiple team locations and coordinating cross-functional groups.
