Role Overview
The Cloud Services division is hiring a Lead AI Developer to join the Cloud Platforms & AI Operations team. This leadership role involves technical expertise in agentic AI systems and AI/ML operations. Responsibilities include developing and managing scalable AI agent architectures focused on transforming IT Operations and IT Service Management for OpenText and its clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on AI agents, evaluating emerging frameworks, capabilities, and patterns to inform strategic implementation.
- Design and refine agent architectures and software patterns, handling aspects such as LLM integration, reasoning, planning, prompting, and security.
- Convert business processes, rules, and requirements into tailored AI agent designs and workflows.
- Develop complex AI software agents primarily using Python, integrating them with enterprise systems and data platforms.
- Perform functional and safety testing, including regression and human feedback cycles to ensure agent quality and reliability.
- Automate deployment, monitoring, and governance of AI agents in scalable cloud environments.
- Diagnose and resolve operational issues affecting agent performance, security, and outcomes promptly.
- Acquire diverse datasets through SQL queries and REST API interfaces.
- Utilize and develop machine learning models to address business challenges using AI and data science.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence or a closely related discipline is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or comparable field is required.
- At least 2 years of experience with AI agent design and development, preferably on large-scale projects from conception to deployment.
- Minimum of 5 years in Software Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Cloud Engineering roles.
- Expertise with AI agent development frameworks such as Google Agent Development Kit or equivalents.
- Proficient in the design, development, and deployment of AI agents, with familiarity in IT Service Management use cases advantageous.
- Strong programming and scripting skills including Python, Bash, YAML, and JSON.
- Experience with data extraction using SQL and REST APIs.
- Proficiency in AI/ML platforms like Vertex AI, AWS SageMaker, or Azure ML.
- Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI/CD, Flux, Argo Workflows) and infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Helm, and Ansible.
- Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) specifically for AI/ML workload deployment.
- Experience with container orchestration ecosystems (EKS, GKE, AKS, Anthos) and AI model serving frameworks like VLLM and TorchServe.
- Knowledge of MCP Server Protocol and development experience with MCP Server.
- Additional exposure to graph databases, monitoring/logging solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch), data/model versioning, experiment tracking, and AI/ML governance and security mechanisms.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
