Kitchen Stewarding Associate

Position Overview

This role involves operating and maintaining cleaning equipment such as dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors. The associate is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting kitchen and storage areas, utensils, tables, knives, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and store deliveries, ensuring perishables are properly rotated and stored in the correct locations.
• Utilize detergent, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals within a three-compartment sink to thoroughly clean dishes.
• Inspect and organize cleaned items, including silverware; send any soiled items back for re-cleaning.
• Rack and hot-water spray items to remove food residue effectively.
• Break down dirty bus tubs and maintain cleanliness of trash cans and dumpster areas.
• Clean and mop all areas within assigned departments and dispose of glass in designated containers.
• Handle the breaking down of cardboard boxes and ensure recyclables are placed in appropriate bins.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and perform movements such as bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Qualifications

• No formal education, related work experience, supervisory experience, or certifications required.
