Job Overview

We seek an enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our team at the Nissan Technical Centre Europe in Bedford. This role is essential in ensuring a clean, organized kitchen operation and supporting overall kitchen functions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically capable, and thrives in team collaboration.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment using industrial dishwashers or by hand.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas.
  • Dispose of waste properly by emptying rubbish bins and managing waste materials.
  • Assist chefs with basic food preparation such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients.
  • Help receive, store, and organize kitchen supplies and ingredients.
  • Ensure kitchen equipment is in good working order, complying with health and safety standards.

Qualifications and Skills

  • While no formal education is required, a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Basic understanding of kitchen equipment and sanitation is advantageous.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
