Job description
Role Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to work the afternoon shift, from 12:30 PM to 8:00 PM, totaling 35 hours per week. This position is based in Biggleswade and offers a competitive hourly wage of £13.25. Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools either manually or using industrial dishwashers.
- Maintain kitchen hygiene by cleaning and sanitizing all surfaces, including countertops and food preparation areas.
- Manage waste disposal by emptying bins and ensuring proper rubbish management.
- Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation activities like peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients.
- Help with receiving, storing, and organizing kitchen inventory and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards by maintaining cleanliness and confirming kitchen equipment is operational.
Qualifications and Experience
- No mandatory formal education; however, a high school diploma or related certification is advantageous.
- Physical endurance to stand for prolonged periods and handle heavy lifting.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established instructions.
- Basic familiarity with kitchen machinery and sanitation standards is beneficial.
- Effective communication and teamwork capabilities are essential.
