About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to become part of our close-knit team providing food and beverage services at BAE Systems Broadoak in Portsmouth. Our team of seven delivers breakfast and lunch services along with operating a Coffee Bar, Retail, and Salad/Deli Bar for BAE Systems staff and management.
Working Hours and Salary
The position requires 34.5 hours per week: Monday through Thursday from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM and Friday from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The hourly pay rate is £13.45.

Key Responsibilities
- Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment manually or with industrial dishwashers
- Maintaining cleanliness and sanitization of kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food prep areas
- Handling waste disposal and emptying rubbish bins
- Supporting chefs with basic food prep such as peeling, chopping, and slicing
- Helping manage inventory by receiving, storing, and organizing kitchen supplies
- Ensuring the kitchen remains orderly and all equipment functions safely in compliance with health and safety standards
Desired Qualifications
- Physical endurance to stand for long periods and to lift heavy items
- Attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately
- Basic awareness of kitchen sanitation and equipment use advantageous
- Strong communication and ability to work well within a team
