Java Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Engage actively in gathering requirements and develop the necessary technical and operational documentation.
• Collaborate with Solution Architect and Technical Lead to analyze and design code modifications based on finalized requirement specifications.
• Implement code changes and conduct system testing aligned with the requirement specifications.
• Ensure adherence to coding and security standards as well as corporate procedures in all work performed.
• Conduct quality assurance tasks including unit testing, system testing, and code reviews.
• Support system integration testing by assisting the Test Team and resolving discovered issues.
• Provide assistance to both internal and external parties during testing phases.
• Offer support to customers during user acceptance testing and after deployment (post-cutover).
• Help in creating training materials and deliver presentations as required.

Requirements

• Possess a diploma or bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• Have at least 8 years of practical experience in backend development delivering production-grade systems such as microservices, APIs, event processing, web portals, and production support.
• Strong expertise with AWS-native systems and operational tools including API Gateway or ALB, ECS/Fargate, RDS, S3, CloudWatch/CloudTrail, and WAF.
• Familiar with CI/CD methodologies and tools like Jenkins, Bitbucket, Octopus, Terraform, or their equivalents.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Java, J2EE, SQL/PLSQL, and XML technologies.
• Experience working with RESTful APIs; proficient in Spring 5.x, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring Security; knowledgeable about cloud-based technologies and microservices architecture including messaging middleware like Kafka, IBM MQ, or Solace.
• Familiarity with container platforms such as Docker, OpenShift, and Kubernetes.
• Good communication abilities both verbally and in writing.
• Possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exhibits teamwork skills and maintains a positive attitude.
• Domain knowledge or experience in financial industry or payments systems is considered an advantage.
