Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a Technical Project Manager to lead comprehensive cloud platform and architecture standardisation projects. This role involves planning and managing cloud migration and modernisation initiatives, ensuring compliance with organisational and security standards, and driving adoption of cutting-edge cloud technologies and automation practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full lifecycle delivery of cloud platform standardisation and architecture projects.
- Manage project aspects including scope, schedules, budgets, risk mitigation, dependencies, and KPI monitoring.
- Collaborate with teams specializing in cloud technologies, DevOps, security, enterprise architecture, and external vendors.
- Lead efforts in cloud migration, infrastructure modernisation, standardisation, and governance processes.
- Conduct architecture assessments, facilitate technical workshops, and maintain governance checkpoints.
- Ensure all projects adhere to cloud, security, and organisational compliance requirements.
- Champion adoption of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, automation, and reusable cloud templates.
- Produce project status updates, technical documentation, and deliver executive-level reports.
Mandatory Qualifications and Experience
- Over 7 years of experience managing IT or cloud projects from initiation to delivery.
- Practical exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong familiarity with cloud architectural principles, platform standardisation, and governance, ideally with experience in the government sector.
- Knowledge of DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes orchestration, Infrastructure-as-Code tools, and automation technologies.
- Proficient in using project and collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
- Exceptional skills in stakeholder engagement, communication, and facilitation across diverse teams.
- Ability to monitor project KPIs and deliver outcomes on time, within scope, and budget.
Preferred Certifications and Skills
- Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum are advantageous.
- Understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks like TOGAF is desirable.
- Experience with financial operations related to cloud cost optimisation (FinOps) is beneficial.
- Familiarity with architecture review boards or governance committees is a plus.
