IRB and Research Access Lead

Job Overview

The IRB and Research Access Lead is responsible for managing Institutional Review Board (IRB) procedures, coordinating with committee members, and directing the research access workflow to ensure compliance with ethical and legal standards.

Key Duties

• Develop and uphold policies consistent with international legal and ethical research standards.
• Manage IRB operations including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and documenting minutes.
• Guarantee the prompt assessment of research protocols and consent forms, adhering to regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with IRB members for initial and ongoing protocol reviews and handle adverse event reports.
• Provide guidance to the research office team to ensure project adherence to procedural norms.
• Handle IRB approvals and Ministry of Public Health assurance processes.
• Monitor researchers' progress reports for protocol renewals or project terminations.
• Ensure research projects receive ethical and methodological approval by the QBB IRB Chair and members.
• Follow document control policies, participate in their periodic review, and maintain compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
• 6 to 8 years of full-time experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, human research, or administration, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Certification as a Certified IRB Professional (CIP) is mandatory.
• Familiarity with the Qatari legal system is preferred.
• Strong writing skills with the ability to prepare and edit diverse reports and communications; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
• Competence in using Microsoft Office suite.
