About the Role

Join Air Products in redefining innovation and excellence by contributing your expertise as an Instrument & Controls Engineer for the NEOM Green Hydrogen Project (NGHP). This pivotal role involves overseeing the design, build, and delivery of Process Controls, Process Automation Systems, and digital technology frameworks ensuring strict compliance with regulations and project-specific cybersecurity standards. Located in Duba, Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, you will support critical phases of construction, commissioning, and startup while safeguarding industrial cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate as a core member of a site cybersecurity task force, applying instrumentation and controls knowledge to verify cyber assets meet specifications and acceptance criteria.
  • Serve as the principal technical liaison interfacing between Air Products project teams, commissioning crews, client operations, and system vendors.
  • Deliver engineering support through construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover stages to ensure control system and cybersecurity requirements are fulfilled.
  • Coordinate closely with Field Supervision Engineers and vendors to plan and execute cybersecurity validation and testing, including managing the closure of Cybersecurity Risk Assessments.
  • Support Factory and Site Acceptance Tests, loop checks, functional tests, and commissioning activities.
  • Review vendor documentation and testing evidence associated with control system and cybersecurity compliance.
  • Compile and validate Proof of Compliance documentation ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation, control systems, networks, and interface issues during commissioning and startup.
  • Ensure that cybersecurity implementations do not hinder schedule-critical milestones.
  • Promote adherence to safety, quality, and cybersecurity standards across all assigned tasks.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Control Systems, Electrical, Electronics Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of industrial instrumentation and control systems experience within sectors like energy, chemicals, oil & gas, or industrial gases.
  • Hands-on experience with Process Automation Systems (PAS), Basic Process Control Systems (BPCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and other vendor-provided control packages.
  • Proven ability to support site-based construction, commissioning, pre-commissioning, startup, and handover activities effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Experience with Industrial Control System (ICS) cybersecurity activities in capital projects.
  • Preferably hold OT/ICS cybersecurity certifications such as ISA/IEC62443, SANS, or recognized international credentials.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities suitable for engagements across all organizational levels.
