Scope and Reporting

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this position oversees the safe and reliable operation of rotating assets at JIGH, SATORP, and SASREF plants. The Superintendent leads a team of technicians to uphold high maintenance standards, ensuring safety and operational efficiency through hands-on execution and professional guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, and testing of rotating equipment, supporting commissioning activities as needed.
  • Accurately manage technical documentation, quality assurance initiatives, and vibration spectrum analysis.
  • Supervise proper installation, alignment (including laser and DTI techniques), and monitoring of vibration, temperature, and operational parameters to forecast and prevent equipment failures.
  • Direct inspection programs focusing on critical equipment metrics and ensure timely maintenance work orders via SAP.
  • Contribute to outage planning, preventive and predictive maintenance program development, and drive reliability initiatives to achieve optimal MTBF and MTTR metrics.
  • Develop work instructions, maintain critical spares inventory, and oversee major equipment overhauls including coordination with engineering and external service providers.
  • Lead safety, environmental compliance, and equipment integrity efforts within rotating equipment maintenance, including managing oil spill containment and disposal.
  • Coach and mentor junior technicians, fostering skills development and high-performance standards within the team.
  • Manage turnaround activities (TAR) from preparation to execution, ensuring safety, productivity, and quality.
  • Provide on-call support and technical recommendations beyond standard hours as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of demonstrated expertise in oil and gas industry rotating equipment maintenance covering reciprocating, centrifugal, screw, lobe, and diaphragm compressors.
  • Proven leadership experience with at least 10 years in supervisory or management roles within rotating equipment maintenance.
  • Hands-on proficiency with reciprocating compressor and pump overhauls, including cryogenic oxygen service pumps and various types like centrifugal and positive displacement pumps.
  • Understanding and application of reliability metrics and condition monitoring techniques (vibration, temperature, pressure).
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Maintenance Management preferred.
  • Certifications in vibration analysis (Level 1 and 2) are advantageous.
  • Strong organizational, planning, communication, and interpersonal abilities essential for cross-functional coordination.
  • English language proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing required.
  • Familiarity with local environmental, health, and safety regulations; knowledge of regional service provider contracts is a plus.
