Opportunity Overview

This role offers a hands-on and physically active career pathway within the aluminium manufacturing industry, complete with comprehensive training and ongoing support. The position operates on a lifestyle-friendly 12-hour rotating shift schedule (2 days, 2 nights, followed by 4 days off) and is part of a diverse, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture. Role Summary

At New Zealand Aluminium Smelter (NZAS), we seek motivated, safety-conscious individuals to join as Production Operators. This role provides an excellent chance for those pursuing a stable long-term industrial career, regardless of previous aluminium manufacturing experience as all necessary training will be provided.

Reporting to Supervisors and Superintendents, and working closely within a production team, your key duties will include:

• Strictly adhering to safety protocols and fostering a robust safety culture
• Operating both fixed and mobile plant machinery
• Performing manual operational tasks in various production zones
• Collaborating effectively with team members to meet production objectives

Candidate Profile

• Prioritize personal and team safety at all times
• Ability to successfully pass pre-employment medical and physical evaluations
• Hold a current valid New Zealand driver's licence
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills including teamwork and communication
• Physically capable of performing industrial work requirements
• Experience in workshop, hands-on work, manufacturing, or industrial settings is beneficial but not mandatory
