Role Overview
Join Rio Tinto as a Weekly Scheduler within the Mobile Equipment Maintenance team, focusing on creating optimized, safe, and efficient weekly maintenance schedules for a large mobile earthmoving fleet based in Pannawonica, Western Australia. You will contribute to shutdown execution by balancing safety, cost, quality, and resource use, while working alongside operational leaders and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain practical weekly maintenance schedules incorporating work management data, resources, and asset strategies.
- Assess labor, equipment, and material availability to optimize work sequences and reduce execution risks.
- Collaborate with contractors, suppliers, warehouse teams, and execution leaders to synchronize resources and critical activities.
- Track schedule progress, utilization, and loading, identifying constraints and driving scheduling enhancements.
- Manage deferred work rescheduling and ensure schedule accuracy via robust governance.
- Handle schedule loss events, update business systems, and inform stakeholders of impacts.
- Analyze work management data to improve shutdown planning and scheduling outcomes.
- Support contractor close-out activities, including invoicing and administrative tasks related to shutdowns.
Candidate Profile
- Strong commitment to team and personal safety.
- Experience in maintenance planning or scheduling within mining, manufacturing, utilities, or heavy industry sectors.
- Proficient with CMMS (computerized maintenance management systems) and associated work management methodologies.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with scheduling software to analyze and manage maintenance workflows.
- Ability to coordinate resources, materials, and stakeholders effectively to deliver maintenance and shutdown projects.
- Capability to interpret maintenance strategies, critical paths, and dependencies to formulate executable work plans.
Additional Helpful Skills
- Exposure to large-scale shutdowns in mobile equipment or fixed plant environments.
- Understanding of Lean principles and continuous improvement methods.
- Mechanical trade background, technical qualifications, or practical maintenance experience.
