Golf Course Superintendent

Role Summary

The Golf Course Superintendent is tasked with overseeing the comprehensive upkeep, operation, and management of golf courses and associated properties. This role focuses on ensuring superior playing conditions, efficient maintenance practices, and alignment with strategic objectives while maintaining compliance with budgets, environmental policies, and safety standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage the upkeep and conditioning of all turf, landscaping, and surrounding facilities on the golf course.
• Supervise maintenance of residential zones, gardens, and landscaping areas to the highest standards.
• Ensure the clubhouse and green areas meet premium golf course criteria.
• Oversee construction, renovation, and rebuilding projects related to the golf course and milieu.
• Coordinate with contractors and internal teams to ensure quality, schedules, and agronomic compliance on projects.
• Supervise repair, operation, and maintenance of all construction and maintenance equipment, developing programs to sustain machinery safety and efficiency.
• Lead long-term operational planning and budget management, including capital expenditure oversight and cost controls.
• Support procurement and capital investment decisions for equipment and infrastructure improvements.
• Direct scheduling, performance management, and training of maintenance personnel, fostering a productive and disciplined multicultural team environment.
• Conduct frequent inspections to verify agronomic quality, safety, and adherence to maintenance standards.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records related to payroll, inventory, procedures, chemical application, and compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Ensure all activities meet local legal regulations, safety protocols, and environmental standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• University degree, diploma, or equivalent certification in Agronomy, Turf Management, or Golf Course Maintenance.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role at a reputable golf facility.
• Proven expertise in tournament preparation and managing high-performance turf conditions.
• Strong agronomy and turfgrass management knowledge.
• Comprehensive understanding of golf course construction principles and maintenance practices.
• Proficiency with computers and maintenance management/reporting systems.
