Host/Hostess

Position Overview

At Westin Hotels & Resorts located on Olaya Street, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, we are seeking an attentive Host/Hostess to warmly welcome guests upon arrival, assess the size of their party, and ensure prompt and courteous seating arrangements. This role involves providing assistance in guiding guests through the dining space and managing seating for groups with specific needs.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and seat them by selecting clean, available tables, setting up chairs, and placing up-to-date menus in front of them.
• Assist guests by showing them to their seats and addressing any special group seating requirements.
• Arrange tables, chairs, and place settings appropriately, ensuring each guest is provided with a napkin, clean silverware, and other standardized tableware.
• Confirm that menus are current, clean, ample in quantity, and free of wrinkles.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas continuously, employing clean-as-you-go methods.
• Keep vigilant observation of dining areas for seating availability, service quality, guest safety, and well-being.
• Adhere strictly to all company policies regarding safety and security; report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to management.
• Complete necessary safety training and certification as required.
• Maintain a professional appearance and personal grooming in line with company standards.
• Protect proprietary company information and assets diligently.
• Answer telephones politely using proper etiquette and communicate clearly and professionally with guests and colleagues.
• Support a positive team environment by cultivating constructive working relationships and responding appropriately to colleagues’ concerns.
• Meet quality standards and expectations consistently.
• Be capable of standing, sitting, or walking for extended durations and safely lift or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds unaided.
• Carry out additional tasks as delegated by supervisors.

Qualifications and Preferences

• Minimum education requirement: high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• No prior work experience is necessary.
• No supervisory or managerial experience required.
• No licenses or certifications required.
