About the Role
Join a fast-changing and dynamic retail environment as a Home Delivery Driver at Sainsbury's, where the passion for food meets superb customer service. You will play a vital role delivering the groceries that our online shoppers depend on, right to their doorsteps.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a 3.5 tonne van to transport grocery orders promptly and in excellent condition.
- Perform vehicle checks ensuring cleanliness, organization, roadworthiness, and secure loading before departure.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting with product queries, managing substitutions, and communicating any delivery delays.
- Gain detailed knowledge about products, promotions, and services to recommend effectively.
- Support in-store operations whenever not on delivery routes.
Candidate Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older with a full UK/EU driving license held for a minimum of one year and fewer than 7 penalty points.
- Complete both an online driving risk assessment during the recruitment process and a practical driving evaluation upon joining.
- Have legal eligibility to work in the UK.
- Capable of driving confidently on diverse routes, from busy urban areas to narrow rural lanes, and to different residence types.
- Enjoy working in an active, high-energy, fast-paced setting, capable of independently solving problems as well as collaboratively contributing to a team.
- Flexibility to engage in different store roles with training provided, showcasing adaptability and eagerness to learn new skills.
- Comfortable using digital tools and technologies essential to performing the job effectively.
- Physical ability to handle moving shopping containers weighing up to 15 kilograms.
