Job description
About the Role
As a Home Delivery Driver at Sainsbury's in Melksham, you will play a crucial role in delivering the groceries that our online customers order. Working in a dynamic and fast-moving environment, no two days will be the same. Our stores are central to the community, offering great service, quality, and value.
Responsibilities
- Operate a 3.5 tonne van to deliver groceries punctually and in excellent condition to customers' doorsteps.
- Perform vehicle inspections ensuring cleanliness, organization, roadworthiness, and secure loading before driving.
- Interact professionally with customers, handling inquiries, managing substitutions, and communicating any delays promptly.
- Gain comprehensive knowledge about Sainsbury's products, services, and promotions to provide helpful recommendations.
- Support in-store tasks when not performing delivery duties.
Candidate Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old with a full UK/EU driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months and no more than six penalty points.
- Complete an online driving risk assessment during the interview stage and pass a driving assessment upon joining.
- Have the legal right to work in the UK.
