Head Bartender

Position Overview

The Head Bartender role at JW Marriott in Singapore focuses on leading a team to deliver outstanding guest experiences through attentive service, teamwork, and maintaining high standards of grooming and attire. The role involves supervision of staff operations, ensuring smooth opening and closing duties, managing inventory and stock supplies, and overseeing maintenance tasks within the bar and dining areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate team efforts to maximize service efficiency and guest satisfaction.
• Inspect and maintain staff grooming and dress standards.
• Perform opening and closing procedures, including setting up supplies and cleaning equipment.
• Ensure storage areas are clean, well-organized, and adhere to FIFO inventory principles.
• Carry out scheduled stock inventories and requisition supplies as needed.
• Monitor dining room seating, service quality, guest safety, and comfort.
• Complete work orders for maintenance and repairs promptly.
• Support management with employee hiring, training, scheduling, evaluations, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching.
• Act as a role model and serve as a primary contact for the organization's open door policy promoting fair treatment.
• Follow all company policies, safety, and security procedures while reporting any incidents or unsafe conditions.
• Uphold professional appearance standards and confidentiality of company information.
• Welcome and acknowledge guests in line with company protocols, anticipate their needs, assist guests with disabilities, and express genuine appreciation.
• Engage with colleagues and guests using clear, professional communication.
• Foster positive workplace relationships, collaboratively work towards shared goals, and handle colleague concerns thoughtfully.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and proactively identify ways to enhance efficiency, safety, cost savings, and overall productivity.
• Perform physical tasks involving standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, stooping, climbing stairs or ramps, and working in confined spaces.
• Carry out other reasonable tasks as requested by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum educational requirement: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least two years of relevant work experience in the field.
• Minimum one year of supervisory experience preferred.
• No specific licenses or certifications required.
