Job description
Role Overview
The Ground Support Safety Operator is responsible for ensuring on-road safety during the testing and operational deployment of autonomous vehicles. This position requires driving safety vehicles on assigned routes, safeguarding pedestrians, other road users, and autonomous vehicle operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate designated safety/support vehicles on specified operational routes.
- Deliver safety support at ground level throughout autonomous vehicle activities.
- Observe road conditions, monitor pedestrians, surrounding traffic, and identify potential hazards.
- Assist in hardware and software update testing procedures.
- Support autonomous vehicle road trials and daily road operations.
- Provide support during special experience sessions and VIP events.
- Offer ground assistance during operational and cloud-cabin testing processes.
- Communicate any hazards or operational concerns to relevant teams promptly.
- Adapt responses to changing traffic and road conditions.
- Adhere to safe driving standards and comply with all operational protocols.
Candidate Profile
- Holder of a valid UAE driving license.
- Exemplary driving record with solid understanding of road safety norms.
- Experience in professional driving, fleet management, transportation, automotive testing, or related fields is advantageous.
- High situational awareness and vigilance.
- Effective communication abilities.
- Capability to follow prescribed routes and operational directions precisely.
- Safety-conscious, dependable, and at ease working within road operation environments.
