Job Responsibilities
- Execute routine maintenance and repair tasks throughout the hotel property.
- Regularly inspect and service electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical and other hotel systems.
- Quickly address maintenance requests from guests and various hotel departments.
- Diagnose and repair electrical issues including faults, lighting, sockets, and switches.
- Perform standard plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks, taps, toilets, and drainage problems.
- Support upkeep of air conditioning and ventilation systems.
- Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance as per hotel procedures.
- Oversee equipment operation and condition in guest rooms, public spaces, kitchens, staff areas, and back-of-house sections.
- Report major faults or equipment malfunctions to the Engineering Supervisor or Director.
- Keep detailed and accurate maintenance records of completed jobs.
- Adhere strictly to all safety, health, hygiene, and environmental regulations within the hotel.
- Collaborate with outside contractors and specialist technicians when necessary.
- Respond efficiently to maintenance emergencies and equipment breakdowns.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the engineering workshop and work areas.
Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience in hotel maintenance or a comparable engineering field is required.
- Fundamental understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and general facility maintenance.
- Ability to identify and resolve a variety of maintenance issues effectively.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work on shifts including weekends and public holidays.
- Safety-conscious attitude with compliance to hotel procedures.
- Possession of any technical or vocational qualifications in relevant fields is beneficial.
Additional Information
- Excellent interpersonal skills and aptitude for problem-solving.
- Fluency in English required; proficiency in other languages is considered an asset.
