Role Overview
We are seeking a Maintenance Assistant for the FV by Peppers property in Brisbane. This full-time, on-site role involves supporting daily maintenance activities to keep the facility in excellent condition, ensuring safety and comfort for both guests and staff. The responsibilities include conducting routine inspections, performing minor repairs, assisting with preventive maintenance, responding promptly to maintenance requests, and collaborating closely with other departments to minimize operational disruptions.
Responsibilities
- Carry out regular inspections and general maintenance of the building and equipment.
- Assist with preventive maintenance duties to ensure reliable operation and limit downtime.
- Respond to service requests efficiently and coordinate with various departments.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance work performed.
- Follow established safety procedures and standards at all times.
- Report unresolved issues to senior maintenance personnel or external contractors for further action.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Hands-on experience with building maintenance tasks and general upkeep.
- Knowledge and skills in equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance practices.
- Good communication abilities to effectively liaise with team members, contractors, and hotel departments.
- Basic understanding of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
- Previous experience in hotel, facility, or property maintenance environments is advantageous.
- Strong adherence to safety protocols and ability to prioritize tasks independently or as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends and evenings if necessary.
- Desired: Relevant trade certifications or qualifications in maintenance, facilities management, or related areas.
