Geotechnical Engineer

Overview

We are looking for a driven and precise Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will deliver services aligned with established practices, handle data management and reporting, and collaborate closely with senior engineers and clients to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform engineering services in line with client requests and contract specifications using standard protocols.
• Comprehend geotechnical methods, design routines, and internal procedures to carry out engineering analyses and documentation efficiently.
• Analyze project requirements and employ appropriate techniques to develop engineering reports, consulting with senior staff and management.
• Assist in planning and preparation of method statements and quality plans for field investigations; supervise field and office personnel as directed.
• Coordinate with project managers or site engineers to ensure compliance with engineering specifications during fieldwork, including testing and sample collection.
• Supervise data management from site to lab and office; verify data accuracy and formatting according to codes, securing client approvals.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and clients on report structures; prepare factual and interpretative engineering documents including foundation calculations and design evaluations; conduct peer reviews.
• Maintain quality control throughout project phases; report deviations promptly for corrective action.
• Support senior staff to achieve client approval of final deliverables.
• Act as product manager for specific Fugro products, enhancing expertise through research and training.
• Adhere to and promote Quality Assurance, Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
• Engage with the Commercial Department on contractual or business-related matters.

QHSSE Compliance

• Ensure full adherence to Fugro's policies and procedural standards at all times.
• Work consistently according to procedures to achieve sustainable outcomes; non-compliance may lead to disciplinary processes.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; a Master's in Geotechnical Engineering is advantageous.
• Minimum of five years' experience in Civil and Geotechnical Engineering, including preparation of reports, foundation designs, interpretation of field data, and engineering analysis.
• Proficiency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to staying current with emerging geotechnical technologies and resources.
